Acrosticism is a fast paced party game where creativity beats vocabulary. Players turn ordinary words into clever backronyms that fit a theme while managing a shrinking hand of cards. With simultaneous play, tight turns, and no card drawing, Acrosticism rewards wit, speed, and inventive thinking.

Overview

Acrosticism flips traditional word games on their head. Instead of searching for words, players reverse engineer phrases from the letters of a Word Card they are dealt. The cleverest, funniest, most fitting, or simply the Judge’s personal favorite backronym wins the Theme Card that turn. After every player has a turn as Judge, the player with the most Theme Cards wins the round.

How It Works

The Theme: Flip a Theme Card, anything from “a terrible name for a new perfume” to “a motto for surviving a bad Monday.”

The Challenge: Acrosticize your Word Card into a backronym that fits the theme. You have 2 minutes. Each letter becomes the start of a new word.

The Verdict: The Judge picks their favorite. The most creative, hilarious, or fitting entry wins the Theme Card.
